Columbia will be celebrating its December graduates later this month at the annual Graduation Dinner and Dance. Held at the Skylon Tower in Niagara Falls, December graduates will enjoy a night of dinner and dancing. Relay for Life is returning to Columbia! Our Student Development (SD) Department is challenging one another to an exciting and fun Relay for Life event in coordination with the Canadian Cancer Society. The YELT test – York English Language Test - is coming to CIC! On November 28, York University will administer the YELT test at Columbia. The test will determine if those applying to York will require additional ESL courses when they begin their first year of study.  The test will assess English reading and writing comprehension as well as English speaking…

This past week, Columbia’s Character Team was working hard to inspire and motivate their peers during the school’s annual Character Week. Each day highlighted a different character trait and students were invited to participate in activities related to the day’s theme. Among the traits celebrated were responsibility, caring, peaceful and positive conflict resolution, inclusiveness, and perseverance. (more…)
